Name: Hellen

Country: United States

Treatment: Gynecology

It doesn’t come as a surprise that one would feel skeptic about traveling to India, especially for medical treatment because of the way India is depicted in Western Media.

And this was exactly the case with one of our patient’s, Hellen who discovered Medmonks via our blog.

Hellen is a US citizen in her mid-thirties, who was struggling to conceive a baby because she had fibroids, and endometriosis. She had tried numerous conservative treatments in the US but was still unable to achieve pregnancy. She then thought about undergoing a procedure, if necessary, so she went to a few gynecologists in the US for consultation, but none of their approaches seemed fitting to her.

But like every woman she still wanted to experience the joy of motherhood. This brought her on the internet searching for different treatments and surgical procedures that could possibly help her condition. And that’s when she stumbled on our blog dedicated to female infertility, which encouraged her to contact our services directly.

Hellen and our team actively stayed in touch with her for a few days, talking back and forth. However, as she decided to travel to India for her medical treatment, her friends and family started feeding her information about India as they see in US movies, TV series and documentaries, the majority of which usually focuses on the poverty-afflicted population.

But Hellen didn’t shy away from sharing her apprehensive concerns as our team had been in touch with her for a week by then. She directly contacted us and said “I am not going to lie, I am very confident about the quality of treatment that I am going to receive because, well I have gone through websites of several hospitals. But my perception of India, forces me to assume that I won’t be able to get appropriate accommodation facilities. I am scared about how will I adjust, I mean, what I am going to eat, where will I stay?”

Empathizing with her concerns we ensured her of our services, and told what she would witness when she comes to India, will completely change her perspective. We also asked her to go through our website explore the profiles of Indian doctors and hospitals, so she can get a little reassurance.

Once she made her mind, our team started assisting her with the treatment plan, fixing her appointment with one of the best gynecologist in India, Dr Loveleena Nadir at Fortis La Femme Hospital.

Dr. Loveleena Nadir verdict on the case “I frequently receive such, infertility cases caused because of fibroids in women. When I received Hellen’s diagnostic reports from the US, I recommended her to come to India for further investigation so that I could access and analyze her condition. When I examined her condition, it was clear that she would require surgical removal of the fibroids. I then suggested her for a laparoscopic surgery, which is a minimally invasive procedure, that helped her recover faster and go back to the USA within 7 days.”

And that's exactly what happened, she was in love with the country and was absolutely satisfied with the treatment when she boarded the flight back to her homeland.

Her treatment went on for four days in which she got laparoscopic myomectomy, cystectomy, chromopertubation, and salpingostomy. She only had to stay in India for 7 days. Upon departure, she told our team “I am actually amazed by your services, and the facilities available at the hospital. I did not expect this at all and let me tell you that this was a good surprise.”

Now, she wishes to visit India again. And hopefully, she will be accompanied by her baby this time.
