Apollo hospitals joined hands with Google to introduce an all-new feature called Symptom Search in India. This one-of-a-kind feature will offer improved search outcomes to users looking for health symptoms.

Symptom Search: Take a sneak peek

Google will be adding information in regards to commonly searched symptoms. For instance, on searching a common symptom like ' cough and pain', the feature that will be available either in English or Hindi, will display a list of health-related conditions including, flu, common cold, pneumonia, acute bronchitis and chest infection. Also, symptoms such as a headache will indicate the app to show digital cards offering an overall description to users and will also suggest whether the person needs to visit a doctor or not.

Google by working closely with Apollo aims to offer valuable assistance in navigating and exploring health conditions related to the symptom and quickly get to the point where they can talk to a health professional or do more in-depth research on the web.

In addition, the search results are intended only for information purposes. And the app users need to consider consulting a doctor for diagnosis and treatment.

The prime objective of introducing this feature is to spread the awareness regarding diseases and methods of prevention. Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals, said, " With the launch of the Symptom Search Project, we aim to provide quality healthcare information which can be accessed by a billion Indians".
