India's First Test Tube baby, Kanupriya Aggarwal is Forty Now
Kanupriya Aggarwal, aka Durga, the first test tube baby of India celebrated her 40th birthday in Pune.
40 years back, on October 3, 1978, Dr Subhash Mukherjee, the first physician in India and second in the world created test tube baby, Durga.
In an interview with an established newspaper, Durga, being the first test tube baby was asked to describe her childhood. She said, " I always grew up with the fact that I was 'it'. I knew my parents are making rounds to the doctors with me to know more about my health, but I did grow up normally and had a normal childhood ".
She mentioned that her grandparents were progressive and accepted her with love and compassion. Though people were initially skeptical about her, the suspicion went over time. She lived a normal life and is a mother to an adorable 5-year-old daughter.
