- Dr. Shirish Hastak is currently associated with gleneagles global Hospital as a consultant and the director at the Neurology and Stroke Service department.
- He has a vast experience of over 35+ years.
- Also, he has his publications in national as well as international journals and has also lectured in numerous conferences.
- Moreover, Dr.Hastak set up the first Indian Stroke website and Stroke Helpline in India
- In addition, he is an active member of numerous proficient organisations.
- Along with his mentor he has co-authored chapters on stroke. Following his fellowship he worked with Prof. Louis .R .Caplan another giant in the field of stroke at the TUFTS Medical Centre, Boston. He later returned to India in 1990 and worked at renowned hospitals in the field of neurology and stroke services.
- While working at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, he pioneered hyper acute stroke management and the use of thrombolysis in combination with mechanical intervention (bridging therapy) to help patients in acute stroke settings. He continues to pursue his passion in the field of acute stroke management and plans to set up a Stroke Institute.
