• Dr Jayanti S Thumsi’s expertise lies in breast surgery and is credited with 3500 breast surgeries and 2500 other surgeries so far.
• Dr Jayanti S Thumsi realises the importance of breast health and therefore, has initiated with 258 awareness programs and is responsible for the education of 1,58,000 people about breast health awareness. Not only this but she also voluntarily shows up on many radio shows, tv shows and other mass media. Such programmes help to curb and eradicate breast cancer.
• For this cause, Dr Jayanti S Thumsi has also gone forward to write a book “Lump to Laughter” that illustrates the overwhelming journey of women who have breast cancer and going through treatment for it. This book has done really well and has already reached its third edition.
• Dr Jayanti S Thumsi has founded and serves as a managing director of CREST Foundation. This foundation shoulders the responsibility to reduce the burden that is inflicted on society by cancer. For this cause, they have also paired with BGS Global Hospital to launch a Limca record holder campaign- ‘The World’s Largest campaign for Breast self-examination’ which took pride in teaching 2332 women about breast self- examination.
