Mr John Loandey’s lung cancer was diagnosed when he received medical treatment for a cough, which remained persistent. As he consulted a chest physician after a general physician when nothing seemed to work for him. It was surprising to him as a non-smoker that he has developed lung cancer.
He came to India, at Max Hospital, Shalimar Bagh in Delhi where he received his treatment.
“We had very extensive discussions with him, as too what are the options, and what are the pros and cons of the treatment and what will be the side effects of the treatment and how he is going to tolerate,” said Dr Ranga Rao, who supervised his case at Max Hospital.
“We made a combination of chemotherapy and targeted therapy for him. We administrated him for four cycles.”… “He was responding well, so continued with the treatment. Similarly, his tolerance with chemotherapy was also good, and he started breathing well after just one cycle” added Dr Ranga.
After chemotherapy, John started showing the signs of recovery. And now he is planning to go back to Washington. The doctors have suggested him to go for regular checkups to prevent cancer from recurring.
