Mr Abo Aziz N Sheikh had a knee deformity for almost 15 years, because of which he had to use crutches. However, a couple of months ago, he became unable to climb stairs or walk properly which caused him to receive further investigation.

Doctors in Kenya, suggested Aziz seek medical treatment in India. So, he started searching for the best doctors in India. Then he selected Apollo Hospital, and got in touch with their team, who scheduled consultation between him and Dr Raju Vaishya, the Senior Consultant of Indraprastha Apollo Hospital. He stayed in touch with the doctor, and then after some time decided to come to India.

Abo “had a severe deformity of the right knee of 120 degrees, the knee was bent in about in 120 degrees, and he couldn’t straighten it. This happened 15 years ago which was treated locally in Kenya, but his knee has completely fused in that position. So, he could only walk with severe shorten limb deformity” said Dr Raju Vaishya about the condition of the patient. His knee was treated with a Russian ring fixator

After just three weeks of surgery Aziz was able to walk with the help of walkers, and hopefully, his external walkers will be removed in the next 2 to 3 months after which he will be able to walk without any support.
