Country: Myanmar
Age: 46
Condition: End-Stage Renal Disease
Treatment: Renal Transplant
Doctor: Dr Waheed Zaman│ Senior Consultant & Head of Renal Transplant Unit
Hospital: Max Super Speciality Hospital, Shalimar Bagh
Mr Kyi Zin came to India, from Myanmar to Max Super Speciality Hospital, Shalimar Bagh for his renal transplant surgery. Mr Kyi’s was suffering from end-stage renal disease, and his case was given to Dr Waheed Zaman.
After suffering from constant health problems, the patient decided to go to a hospital for further investigation a few months ago in Bangkok where it was diagnosed that 80 per cent of his kidney had been damaged. After consulting several doctors there he was recommended to undergo renal transplant surgery in India.
“The patient had a very strong case of diabetes in his family history” which made it difficult to find a donor for him said doctors at the hospital.
Then Mr Kyi’s 40 years old brother came forward and donated his kidney to his brother. His reports turned out to be normal in the kidney function test, and the operation was scheduled.
“The surgery went fine, and we discharged him on the 7th post-operation day with normal serum creatinine. He is doing extremely well and is now ready to go back home” said, Dr Waheed Zaman.
